Qiu Yue attended The 2008 Young Chinese Leaders Forum in Shanghai

                                                                                                                                                
 
 

       The 2008 Young Chinese Leaders Forum “Harmony, the Highlight of City” was held grandly on 1st June, 2008 at Shanghai Jiaotong University. Qiu Yue, who was the graduate student of Institute of Population Research, Peking University, was one of the participants. The forum was sponsored by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and organized by Shanghai Jiaotong University. The forum was aimed to build an information exchange platform for Young Chinese Leaders and to improve their sense of mission and responsibility.

       Over other 50 students attended the forum. They were from The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, National Chiao Tung University, University of Macau,  Zhejiang University, Fudan University, and Shanghai Jiaotong University.

      One topic of the forum was “How to cope with the environmental problem in the cause of developing cities?” .And the other was “How to solve the sub healthy state of the citizens nowadays?” According to above topics, on June 2nd, several participants talked about the problem that “In order to build a harmonious city, what is most important?” The choices can be economy, culture and environment. Qiu yue attended the discussion on behalf of the Peking University team.

       On June 4th, participants went to several places in Shanghai to pray for those who suffered in Sichuan Earthquake. And on June 5th, students communicated with staffs from Johnson & Johnson Corporation (Shanghai) and Mercer Human Resource consulting (Shanghai).

       After a party on June 5th night, the forum ended. During the forum, a broad scope of exchanges was conducted among students from different Universities.
