Dr. Lin Yan from Institute of Population Research, Peking University participated seminar in Tokyo on the joint research project on disability


        From Nov.28 to Dec. 1, 2008, Post Doc of our institute, Dr. Lin Yan, participated the international workshop on the joint research project on the Livelihood of PWDs in Developing Countries, organized by the Institute of Developing Economies, JETRO, and made a progress report on the research in china. Since July, 2008, our institute, and also the China Research Center on Disability and Development, Peking University, began the cooperation with IDE-JETRO on the research on the livelihood of PWDs in developing countries. This project conducts research and comparison of the livelihood of PWDs in Philippines, Indonesia and China. Our institute is responsible for the china’s part. Project teams from each country participated this seminar. On this seminar, Dr. Lin introduced the 2nd china national sampling survey on disability, reported our research focusing on their livelihood, and also answered questions by the participants, and also obtained valuable suggestions and comments for our research. The seminar also provided a one-day study tour in a Japan Center for Independent Living and Deaf Association.
