Cooperation under Discussion between IPR and Swinburne University of Technology

     July 29, 2008, along with Ms. Chen Rong, a Ph. D. candidate of our institute (2006 Ph. D. candidate majored in Population and Health, went to Swinburne University of Technology in Australia as visting Ph. D. since January 2008), her cooperative supervisor, Professor Philippe Taylor, Director of Business, Work, Ageing Center for Research, SUT, came to our institute to have a future discussion on the details of conducting the research project “Working late” and future cooperation issue. Professor Chen Gong, Professor Mu Guangzong, Dr. Zhang Lei and Dr. Lin Yan participated in this meeting. The two parts introduced the research field and strength of each institute, and primarily explore the fields with common interests that could have cooperation in the future. As to the project, the two sides exchanged ideas on interview objects, questionnaire design, areas and other details, and designed a research framework. The survey is planned to be conducted in the end of 2008.

        This project is being funded by Australian Research Council and will be carried out in China, UK, Sweden, USA and Australia in the next three years. It aims to investigate public policy in labour supply and consider how older workers are positioned in a globalizing economy.
